A Modern Apartment or a Traditional House?

Would you prefer to live in a traditional house or in a modern apartment building? Use specific reasons and details to support your choice.

If I was asked where I would prefer to live, a modern apartment or a traditional house, I think I would hesitate a little, because both of these options have some advantages and disadvantages. In the following paragraphs, I will analyze the merits and demerits of these options and summarize my point of view.

On the one side, living in an apartment has some advantages. First of all, costs, payments and fees in an apartment are much less than a house. Second of all, there is no need to spend lots of money on furniture and stuff that you don’t really need. Because houses have more rooms and spaces, you cannot let those places be empty and you should fill the house with furniture which is not staple for living. However, in my opinion, living in a modern apartment has some disadvantages too. First, apartments can be noisy and you will have too many neighbours with different cultures which sometimes could make some controversies. Second, you do not have any privacy out of your unit. For example, in a house, you can have a pool, a gym or have picnic grill in your yard but these options are not available with living in an apartment.

Form the other side, living in a house has some benefits too. For example, you can have a beautiful garden in your yard and you can decorate your house and your yard for Christmas or New Year, with your opinion. You can decide what kind of flowers and trees you like to have in your garden. You can make a playfield for your children. Or have extra space for your second car parking. You can have a party with your friends and none of your neighbours become angry because of noisiness. However, you have to spend more time for organizing and cleaning your house. And also most of the houses are outside of downtowns, so if you want to live in a house, you should live far from downtown, and because of that, you should be in traffic every day to reach your job location. Even restaurants, cinemas and theatre would be far from your house too.

In conclusion, I think I would prefer to live in a small traditional house outside the city center and have a beautiful garden in my house. It could help me to rejuvenate after returning from my job every day.
