Dancing

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Dancing plays an important role in a culture. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

In my point of view, there are some major traditions like language, cooking, music, games, and religion which has important roles in every country’s culture. Also, I can add dancing as the last important item in every culture. I think music is the complement of dancing in every culture, and maybe music has been invented to complete the elegance of dancing.

I can remember, I have read an article somewhere (in a book or maybe on Wikipedia website) that states one of the first ways of communication between mankind was gesticulating. Before inventing any languages, people only moved their bodies to convey a content. They even did not know how to use their sounds properly. So, maybe (probably, possibly) dancing is an older way of communication than languages.

Over the years, man made some customs for specific situations. For example, when they hunted a deer they would celebrate with a kind of dancing over the carcass of that hunted deer. After some centuries, people gathered together in a specific location and made towns and cities, and then, they started to celebrate more and more for new cultural activities and ceremonies that have been made recently. Therefore, they made new celebration customs for their new traditions, and specific body movements for celebrating together or mourning together.

I think, they even noticed that dancing is beautiful and you can attract (draw) the attention of other people with the delicacy of your dancing. So, women, for example, started to dance perfectly to get men’s attention and start a family.

For summarizing, I think dancing has an important impact in every culture. Even different people of one country like Iran, have miscellaneous dancing types because they passed through different events in their history. Some people have some fighting simulations in their dances while other people in a different part of a country use farming customs in their dances.
